Principal’s Message

At Nedlands, we believe that every student should “Experience the Opportunities”, as is the philosophy of our school. Every individual in the school has the right to learn and grow. Every lesson, every experience should be an opportunity to learn and develop, both inside and outside the classroom.

As educators we provide our students with opportunity to develop their critical thinking through being curious, asking questions and solving problems. We intentionally plan teaching and learning using a balance of explicit instruction, play-based and inquiry approaches. Teachers are deliberate and responsive in their application of teaching strategies, resources, technologies, and assessment. Our educators work collectively to embrace both critical thinking and creativity with their learning programs, catering for the whole child.

At Nedlands we want our students to be risk takers. We encourage our students to challenge themselves, be self-activators, work with a sense of commitment and demonstrate leadership through connecting with others. Our students work with a sense of commitment and purpose, instilled through our celebrated extracurricular programs in The Arts and STEM.

Our rich history at Nedlands Primary School ensures our students are connected with the local community, celebrating its history and partnerships to support local projects. We know that relationships are key. Not only our educator – student relationships, our pastoral care system, and family partnerships, but also our connection to the environment and diverse school community, which are central to supporting student wellbeing and belonging so that students are ready to learn.

Our core business at Nedlands Primary School is providing your student with opportunity. Our aim is to ignite curiosity, and create a rich learning environment providing the skills and confidence that empowers out students to be the leaders for tomorrow.
